Poppleton & Appleby – a century of business advice…
Poppleton & Appleby has been looking after the interests of directors since 1885.
Originally an Accountancy Practice, it founded The Wholesale Traders Association to protect and promote directors involved in hardware, furnishing, metal, automobiles and allied trades.
This tradition of putting directors first continues to this day having now cast off our accounting roots completely to specialise exclusively in advising directors whose businesses are struggling to maintain profitability or are suffering acute cash flow difficulties.
Poppleton & Appleby is not a replacement for your existing advisers, but compliments their skills by working alongside them and providing strong commercial and practical knowledge gleaned from many years of dealing with struggling or insolvent companies.
Since the mid 1960's when Poppleton & Appleby was a founder member of The Insolvency Practitioners Association, the firm became known as a highly respected, independent insolvency practice which specialised in liquidations.
That has now changed as successive governments have encouraged an enterprise culture, which aims to see businesses restructured rather than fail.
As before Poppleton & Appleby has quickly embraced this culture and now concentrates its efforts advising how to avoid insolvency, and where unavoidable, utilising the Administration procedure to restructure the businesses, often with the existing Board remaining intact.
